Facilitation of a Foundation training course in Oman

Rajiv Khanna, our Lead Trainer facilitates a Foundation training course in Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) for Electricity Holding Company in Oman.

The training was for 50 (fifty) delegates and included Senior Responsible Owners, Programme Managers and Business Change Managers. Rather than doing 2 or 3 batches of training which is normal, Rajiv Khanna decided to take the challenge and train all 50 (fifty) delegates at the same time. This is first time in the world that a feat such as this has been achieved. Raj Khanna Associates Limited is the first company in the world that has conducted a course on one of the Best Practice methodologies with over 30 delegates (source: APM Group Limited).

Over the three days the delegates changed tables so they had different colleagues to work with. For each of the elements of MSP we were able to conduct an exercise on their own strategic programmes. This way, not only did they meet other colleagues in their sister companies, but also understood information about the other programmes.

Initially there was scepticism from some of the delegates. By the end of day one this disappeared and they interacted and got a lot from the course. Some of the feedback: I have attended a lot of courses and this has been one the of best; I loved your training style and felt very included in all the discussion; I have walked away from the course having a very good understanding of the key principles of MSP.

We achieved a 100% pass rate.

Rajiv Khanna revisits Oman towards the end of September to run a five day mentoring and coaching session in Oman, supporting the Senior Responsible Owners, Programme Managers and Business Change Managers, in developing their programme information. This included: Vision Statement, Benefit Maps and Profiles, Blueprint, Programme Plan, Stakeholder Analysis and Profiles and Risk and Issue Registers.
