Born in North West England, Rob began his career path in the late seventies by leaving his home for college and further education in London. Although staring out as a mechanical engineer Robs first project, way back in 1985, was in an IT role on a project to research and develop a nationwide computer network for a large governmental department.
Having had a taste for both IT and projects Rob changed his chosen path and completed a Bachelor’s degree, with Honours, in Computer Science coupled with several short man-management, communication skills and business courses.
In 1990 the offer of ‘a short project’ saw Rob moving to Germany where he has remained on and off for most of the last 25 years. First his ‘business skills’ were honed in a Public Relations Officer role for a safari park and several small retail outlets before returning to the IT world to develop websites and databases for independent motor vehicle franchises.
Having spent the majority of his career working in and with small international teams, Rob’s diplomacy, soft skills and communication skills are finely tuned. A very high percentage of the last 10 years has been spent in the adult education environment, as a consultant and coach to high level managers from all corners of the world with business, soft skills and English communication skills.
As a PRINCE2 Practitioner and Accredited Trainer Rob is able to offer a complete package as a facilitator to delegates, pulling from his vast experience of IT, business and engineering.
